So you’re considering walking into Soul Shine for your very first yoga class. Maybe you’re excited, maybe you’re sweating bullets, or maybe you’re picturing a room full of bendy cultists silently judging you. Spoiler: None of that is real. (Except maybe the sweating. That’s legit.)
The Questions We Know You're Asking
Good news: You are absolutely not alone.
Better news: We're here to make your first class way less intimidating—and probably way more fun than you're expecting.
What to Wear
Don’t overthink it. If you can move, breathe, and not accidentally flash your neighbor, you’re good.
Leggings, sweatpants, basketball shorts—whatever works for you. If you show up in jeans, we’ll assume you lost a bet.
What to Bring
Shoes and ego stay at the door. The mat is a drama-free zone!
Feel free to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. A towel can be handy, too, especially if you tend to sweat.
What Happens When You Arrive
When you step into Soul Shine, take a deep breath. The atmosphere is welcoming.
Check in at the front desk. Our friendly staff will guide you through the process.
Find a spot in the studio that feels right for you. We have plenty of space, so don’t worry about being too close to anyone.
During Class
As the class begins, you’ll notice the soothing music and the gentle guidance of your instructor.
Follow their lead. Remember, it’s perfectly okay to modify poses to suit your comfort level.
Focus on your breath. This is your time to reconnect with yourself.
After Class
Wanna chat? Stick around and share your experience. Want to Irish goodbye out the door? You do you.
Odds are, you’ll feel at least 37% better than when you walked in. That’s basically science.
FAQs
What if I’m not flexible?
No worries! Flexibility comes with practice. Everyone starts somewhere.
Do I need to know yoga terminology?
Not at all! Your instructor will guide you through everything you need to know.
Can I attend if I’m not in shape?
Absolutely! Yoga is for everyone, regardless of fitness level.
Final Thoughts
You don’t have to look or act like a yogi, know Sanskrit, or identify as a “spiritual being having a human experience.” Just show up as you are—messy, anxious, sore, or hyped.
We can’t wait to meet you.
